On April 25th of each spring we open our gates to gardeners, homeowners, families, friends, artists, neighbors, students, businesses and more. Every year we meet more wonderful people, and welcome anyone that feels at home in our little corner of the Burgh. 2016 was no different. Our grass grows greener every year, and we are always grateful for all of the time you spend with us- talking plants, bees, worms, weather and work.
We hope you found a little piece of our business to take home with you. In 2017 we will begin growing again, and we will be extending our season into the Fall. Until then we will see you in December for Christmas Trees and Wreaths.
We have great deals on our annuals this time of year. Come get a flat for $20! Mix and match gazanias, marigolds, celosia, colius, or snap dragons.
Our perennials are blooming too! We have anything you need for ground cover, shrubs, climbing vines, and more. Not sure what you need? Contact our landscaping staff for a free estimate. email@example.com
We know you can’t wait. Neither can we. We are filling the greenhouse with our seedlings, and doing our annual spring cleaning. Stop by on the weekend to say hi or take a peek at some of the trees and shrubs we are beginning to put out.
If you are looking for landscaping, send us an e-mail and we can set something up for you.
We are going to have DOUBLE our normal inventory this year! We have trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, herbs, and vegetables. We are also getting in some locally made leaf compost from Shadyside Worms, and we will have REAL double shredded, locally sourced mulch. NONE OF THAT FAKE RUBBER/COLORED STUFF!
Shadyside Nursery is a family owned business located in the Shadyside Neighborhood of Pittsburgh next door to the Harris Grill (just off of Ellsworth Avenue).
Entering our 6th year, we continue to dedicate our time to helping local gardeners find the quality plants they need for their yards and vegetable gardens. We also have a hard working team of landscapers that will help you with any landscaping or hardscaping projects you may have.
Our season begins in April and runs thru late October. Look no further for a wide selection of:
Vegetable Seedlings (unique heirloom varieties)
Soil, Compost, Mulch
Pots, Handmade Pottery
We believe in supporting small business and supporting the green economies in Pittsburgh. That’s why we also host Shadyside Worms, a local composting business, and BeeBoy, a local beekeeper. In addition to our plants and services, we also provide:
Worm Castings: an organic and easy-to-use fertilizer
Fresh, local (ON SITE!) Honey
You won’t be disappointed by our selection- we even have some great garden art at our nursery. Come check it out!
